I am part of a book group here in tulsa called the twister city text mob. we are currently reading Down by the River : Drugs, Money, Murder, and Family
it’s a pretty interesting read, written by an investigative journalist who spent like 6 years or something researching the drug world and spending time with a DEA agent’s family on the border of mexico.
one of the books we read before that was called Freedom of Expression®: Overzealous Copyright Bozos and Other Enemies of Creativity by kembrew McLeod. i heard he has the entire book available for free download on his site too.
a little tough to read at times but overall thought provoking and informative.
there is this thing in town called the The Tulsa Kick Ass Initiative. i might not be doing it justice with this description but i believe it is a group effort to help make tulsa more attractive as a cultural center. i believe they meet on mondays at hodge podge books downtown.
i can’t remember who sent me this but i found out there is some wallpaper i drew up on brooks shoes site. there are also some other cartoonist types up there too.
