back in pdx

three weeks in new york was an effing whirlwind. that place is way too intense for me but i had the best time seeing all the amazing, talented, and fun people i know there. i had a lot of super good hang out sessions with friends. it was an ass kicking, but left me inspired and challenged to work harder.
the thing at rocketship was totally packed and an all around spectacular experience. thanks to alex and mary for having such a good store and making me feel so at home there in brooklyn. and thanks to everyone for coming out for that. i think a couple of my original covers for omega might still be up there.
this is a picture from pub weekly of the omega crew at the event.

thanks todeep six crew for letting me use their studio. also while i was visiting, jim’s band, paper fleet played a great show atcake shop. i heard there is some article on them in time out new york this week.
i also had fantastic time up in vermont visiting the center for cartoon studies. everyone was really nice, and the town was very pleasant. i liked all the stuff i saw coming out of that school.
right after i got back to portland i hit thestumptown show
and got to see even more excellent comic book people. i only had my one advance copy of the new meathaus for the show. a bunch of people looked at it and the response was good. i haven’t read all the stories yet but it really is an exceptional looking book.
i was so pooped on sunday i passed out at ten and missed the closing party for the magic show at now i need to crawl back in my cave and get back to work on the wrenchies.
dino pointed out that i should try using the lj cut. so okay then, there is another drawing i did recently
behind the cut.
