Inmates of Heartache

hey everybody, mocca and stumptown both were relatively swell. thanks to everyone involved in the show who brought the excellence and thanks to those who showed up and especially thanks to all of you who bought stuff. i appreciate you all. thanks so much.
I sold a bunch of the new pop gun war: chain letter preview book and i received some good feedback on the way it came out. i think the book looks quite nice. it has a letterpress cover printed by local portland company, fortress letterpress.
it is a little hard to see in these pictures…
fire escape hollis
but the cover has a nice indention from the letter press, it is especially sharp with the sinclair drawing on the back. the book is limited to 250 copies, it’s 56 mostly black and white pages (8 are in color), and i’m selling the sucker for $15 plus shipping.

click on this paypal thing and it adds the shipping costs.
if you let me know in the paypal instructions i can do a little sketch and sign the inside.
or you can always email me if you want to send a check or money order type thing the old fashioned way.
a special thanks goes out to jason at floating world comics for holding my hand through this whole thing.
i’m sorry to everyone who i told i was going to the parties, events, and social engagements of the stumptown weekend. i just couldn’t hang. i hope no one is mad about it. i was so burnt and ready to be home by the end of the stumptown show i got a dang speeding ticket. my first one since being pulled over while driving scott mill’s jeep on the way to the first tcaf in 2003. i feel a little beat up from the adventure but i am trying to get the eye of the tiger.
so if you haven’t gone by grass hut to see the balls out art including the little painting i did, there is a closing party for the balls out show this friday the 30th from 5-8.

i will be there most likely along with some of the other artists. but if you can’t make it to the closing show, here’s my little painting:

if you want to buy it go here
hey, i just noticed that there was another painting in the show with “hollis” in title.
go here to see all the other cool paintings in the show.
the balls out closing party is also a closing party of sorts for the space itself as bwana spoons is moving the gallery to downtown, 5th and couch inside floating world comics. It will be smaller and a little more curated. should be awesome.
I heard a rumor that i might be having a show at floating world this summer. i’ll try to post about that when i find out more.
also this saturday is free comic book day.
i will be lurking around cosmic monkey for that and will have copies of the new pgw preview book on hand, not for free (sorry) but i will be sketching and signing and will give out a copy of my first comic, smith’s adventures, if anyone asks.
The opening of the new comic store, locust moon in Philadelphia was a lot of fun. thanks to chris and josh and all the other rad dudes i got to hang out with in beautiful university city.
they just put up the store logo and banner while i was there and i think it looks pretty cool. as mentioned in previous post i designed the store logos.
