Hardcore Pops Are Fun
by
Gabrielle Bell, (Lucky), Kevin Huizenga (Curses), and Anders Nilsen (Don’t Go Where I Can’t Follow) presented a slide show and signing at reading frenzy last thursday. i picked up curses finally and anders new book. i haven’t had a chance to read either one of them but i am sure they will be rad.
there are like about 50,000 cartoonists living here in portland. Greg Beans, Nate Beaty, Steve Lafler, Sarah Oleksyk, and Jesse Reklaw got the good idea to start an events page for all the comics stuff going on here.
This is some info from that website: “Comixlist is an attempt to build a more cohesive comics community in Portland, Oregon. The site, comixlist.com, serves as a calendar of comics-related events and get-togethers, and is open to public submissions and discussion. The list, comix@lists.clixel.com, serves as a more loose and open forum for smaller events, gatherings, and anything random we choose to subject each other too.”
omega and more pop gun war coming soon hopefully. i hope to have them both done by next fall. after that i will be working on a new big project. the wonderful people at Baker’s Mark Literary Agency will be representing me on that project.
i am not doing any more commissions for a while but here are the last few commissions i did.

the last drawing was a pin up for blade of immortal issue #127 which should be out in the next few months.
there was also a rad review of meathaus8:headgames on the drawn website.

Farel,
awesome stuff! just wanted to thank you again for the sketch, and i’ll see you at Artfest this coming summer.
i scanned in the Rocketship sketch, and my fiance had it framed for me for Valentine’s day. if you want a scanned image file of the image (for your own records or whatever) just let me know. more than happy to provide.
Those are three INCREDIBLE images!! You always remind me that I need to slow down and take some extra time on my images.
these are amazing – I was trying to work out which one I like best, but they’re all astounding.
wow, i don’t remember seeing much color work from you before, those are great! i especially love the delirium one.
these paintings are GORGEOUS. the first one is currently gracing my desktop! the Pop Gun War painting is interesting to me since he looks a bit older… maybe it’s just my imagination?
