so i will be attending the mocca art fest in new york city in about a week. it is always a great show. come on out if you can. i won’t be having any new stuff to sell but you could pick up some original art or one of the limited edition t-shirts i have left. while i am in new york my favorite bar/venue/record store/coffee shop, cake shop is putting on a party for the MOCCA fest, sat. june 10th. the
meathaus gang will be there as well as some other comic making folks hopefully. i’ll try to post another entry about this with more details before it happens but i am not making any promises.
cake shop is on 152 Ludlow in nyc (between stanton and rivington)
phone 212-253-0036
sadly, the publication of meathaus 8: headgames is further delayed. but we are shooting to get the book out by spx in october.

and here is a page from the story lex and i did

here is a monkey drawing i did for a new record store here in tulsa my friend bart is opening called under the mooch.

a sinclair drawing i did as a commission

and a commission for a zombie submariner

and here is drawing i did for a girl i like.

so i am thinking i am probably moving to the austin, texas area in a few months or so. i visited a few months ago and drunkenly ran into these guys in a local bar. they all seem really decent and i look forward to talking to them some more and to other people into comics. there is not much of a cartoonist scene here in tulsa and i have felt a little deprived. anyone else in the austin area know of anything cool and interesting to a caroontist type let me know.
that is one lucky girl that you like! I LOVE THAT LAST ONE!
My gosh, that is a sizzling drawing and I think that girl is super lucky.
You fly at a million miles per hour and seem to be reaching light-speed! Like a shooting star.
Austin is BS! Whatever happened to Portland? WE NEED YOU HERE!
hello! i’ll be out of town on saturday, but i will try to say hello on sunday. your drawings are stellar, always always.
awesome. i owe you a postcard.
There’s a huge, wonderful cartoonist/animation scene in Austin – it’s where SCANNER was done. I know a lot of those guys. You need to meet Dave Marquez, and Ryan Parker (who did this music video with me), and Harris, and Randy, and all those lads.
sweet drawings man! i’m gonna try to make it out to that nyc art show, sounds interesting
i really hope i can make mocca.
how did you color the last drawing, for the girl you like?
that is cool. thanks alex.
i did it with one of those cheap prang watercolor sets.l
Love the Zombie Namor.
oh wow. that’s real nice.
Austin is awesome! …though I don’t get over there as often as I would like.
yay for MoCCA. I’m going to try to stop by and actually say hi for once, instead of not.
Heyo! I look forward to seeing you at MoCCA. THe Dasher will be staying with me.
Maybe it’s time to move Meathaus back to a smaller scale project. Meathaus 8 has taken three years to ome out.
I really enjoy your quieter colors. The thick photoshop look doesn’t jive with the way you draw which has an organic and human feeling to it. I tought the bottom four images looked good. Zombie Namor is prettier than most of those theme book drawings end up being That’s a really strong pose you chose and I like how much knowledge of anatomy you’re showing off. Lots of movement.
Austin Sketchgroup; we are teh kewl.
gazin, you are a natural born art director. we should put you in charge of getting meathaus 8 out.
yep, looking forward to talking about some comics. what is the best comic shop in austin for indie stuff? i like that Book People store. they have a good graphic novel section.
Austin Books, on 51st and Lamar, is easily the best.
Are you moving here soon? I always assumed you’d show up after the summer was over.
Hey man, anything for Meathaus and anything for you. Your drawings keep getting stronger all the time. In the time I’ve been familiar with your work you’ve gone from someone with a lot of potential to someone using that potential to what you’re currently doing which is stand out A list drawings.
If you actually wanted me to be involved in putting together the next Meathaus I’d be thrilled and a diligent worker.
Also: Piranhas is not spelled correctly. I don’t know if that was on purpose.
yeah, probably after the summer
i’m going to try to make it to nyc next weekend. i’ll text you if i’m going to be there. or maybe i’ll just show up in a tank top and let you notice my arms!
Sinclair Commission
Chiming in late, but I do love my Sinclair commission! Thanks Farel!
Best,
Rob

Austin is a Texas of another animal. Plenty of people to talkomix with here. Austin Books is hands down the store.
