hey everybody. big news today. the dark horse myspace thing i did, “magic spell” is now online! please go read it.
it is only 8 pages. my pal, angry jim campbell did the color art too. sweet. if you like, be sure to pick a copy of bird hurdler at the stumptown comics fest. or on free comic book day for part two of the story! thanks. there is also a thing i did for the myspace blog. well, it is actually thaddeus, the crow from the story that says it all. i just helped transcribe it. he helps explain, in a way, what the hell is going on and what might happen in the future with these characters.
i think that goes up tomorrow. i will post a link to it then.
also the second 5-page installment of pop gun war: chain letter is now up on arthur magazine. read it. then tell your friends. it is helpful for everyone. thanks again to jason leivian from floating world comics for hooking that up. he is the comics editor for that fine magazine and has a great comics shop.
jason is helping me put together a limited edition 22 page preview of pgw:chain letter specifically for the stumptown comics fest.
don’t forget i have art up at the the pony club and the Portland Center for the Performing Arts for the whole month. swing by those places if you are in the downtown portland area. thanks.
oh yeah, and this is pretty swell news. omega the unknown got nominated for an eisner award! for best limited series and i got a nomination for best letterer for the series.
read some more about the eisners here.
vote for us. or whatever. do people vote on those?
and a canadian street pimp sent me this pic of yet another radical tattoo. thanks expatfantasy
here is some fairly recent sketchbook stuff
Congrats on the Einser nominations! Well deserved!
thanks
these sketches are gorgeous! maybe you should experiment with a thinner line weight; kind of brings a different flavor to your work. kind of a guy davis vibe. 🙂
thanks for the advice. i like guy davis.
That’s rad about the eisner nomination.
Yeah its a voting thing. YOu will be voted for.
I’m glad you got a nod towards your lettering too.
i was surprised for sure. i like that nate powell was up there too. and scott morse. it seems like when i used to pay attention that dave sim was always up there for that one.
dang.
congrats on the eisner nod, and that dark horse story kicks my tookus down the hallway with a belt. “you got a lot of anger in your guts.” ha!
