from review on the The Brazen Bull:

“Sherwood continues his emotional journey in Proxima Centauri #3. Now, Sherwood is navigating romantic feelings, friendships, and bullies. However, the most puzzling part of young Sherwood’s journey this issue are the tiny blue creatures right at the end.

I cannot praise Farel Dalrymple enough for his thoughtful exploration of the adolescent mind. Proxima Centauri #3 has proved to be the most emotionally intense issue thus far. Sherwood’s journey through his bewildering planet is foreign in setting, but extremely realistic in all other aspects. Dalrymple’s surreal depiction of the teenager’s struggle creates a kind of tension in the narrative where the words and art amplify each other. As Sherwood’s world continues to grow more visually complex, Dalrymple draws more detail and the written narrative becomes equally more dynamic. In some respects, Sherwood is a highly relatable character, suffering from the typical teenage pangs. But his world is far more complex than ours, and Dalrymple reflects that in the art.
The Bottom Line: Proxima Centauri #3 is another triumphant issue. Farel Dalrymple continues to create an intriguing and surprising world, with a moody, insecure teenager as the lead character.”
